Did you know that our Harsha, in addition to being an engineer, is also a musician? He plays the flute. And the guy's good at it! When'd he find the time? To do so well at it that he's regularly featured on Indian radiowaves. Let's wish him more power! Please find below samples of his melodious breath.
Musical training:
* Initial training in tabla from Mr. Umesh Patnaik in 1976.
* Started learning flute in 1978 on the suggestion of Mr. Umesh Patnaik. Learnt for about two years, from Mr. Vijay Kabinhittal, a disciple of Late Pandit Devendra Murdeshwar who was himself a disciple of the legendary flautist late Pandit Pannalal Ghosh.
* Introduced to late Pandit Haripad Choudhary and Pandit V.G.Karnad, both senior disciples of the late Pandit Pannalal Ghosh, by Shri Vijay Kabinhittal himself. Learnt from late Pandit Haripad Choudhary and Pandit V.G.Karnad for about five years.
* Guidance from Late Pandit Devendra Murdeshwar for about eight years.
* Presently taking guidance from Pandit Yashwantbua Joshi, a senior vocalist and a stalwart of the Gwalior Gharana to imbibe the finer aspects of the Gayaki Ang.
Musical activities:
* Regular performer on All India Radio since 1987. Holds a B-high rating.
* Sangeet Visharad in December 1996 and Sangeet Alankar in December 1998, from Akhil Bharatiya Gandharva Vidyalaya Mandal.
* Teacher at Sharada Sangeet Vidyalaya, Bandra, Mumbai since 1999
